Brought my 2005 Subaru LGT in for 90k service, some warranty work, and some other odd issues like something leaking onto my exhaust and making it look like my car is going to blow up.
Update: A/C actuator was bad meaning I was hearing funny noises and not getting warm/cold feet. Valve cover gasket was leaking which was causing the smoke issue. Drivers side CV joint also needed to be replaced. All covered under warranty, happy days!
While I was waiting, I saw a board with some vehicles listed on it that they are willing to purchase. Sure enough, my car was on there. I’m sure they want me in a new Subaru but I rather sell it and look for other cars if the price is right. Any opponauts ever deal with a trade-in in this type of situation, where the dealer is looking for your vehicle? Any suggestions on a quick, stick daily driver that can haul mountain bikes?

If it was me, I would get a smallish fun hatchback with a small receiver for a bike rack. Maybe a Focus, Golf, or WRX. Outside bike carrier keeps mud out, and if it is a real long trip you can take the bike apart and put it inside in a pinch.

I would probably put a hitch on whatever it is, as that’s the equipment I currently have.

Man what are you talking about, you already have a car that can do that
But if you want a manual, i would look for some hatch back like a Honda Fit or Matrix/Vibe. (not sure if the vibe got a manual) But they are cheap eco cars that will run forever

if you didn;t know, I have a WRX and I got the trailer hitch for my mountain bike rack. Its not the easiest installation but its do-able. get a lease trade in hatchback.

Camaro is currently under the knife and will most likely be my track car (drag strip is 15 minutes away) but that picture is still awesome.. As for the suggestions, I need something a little quicker than those. I got rid of a gas sipping Saturn for the Subaru to give you an idea.

I did know you have a WRX, but didn’t know about the hitch! If I could find a black or red hatch I might consider it.

haha it was a joke cuz i probably mention it every day. I dont know if they make a red but fair warning, the black is a bitch to keep clean and the paint is pretty thin so it pits easily and shows each and every one. The white is a beautiful color on the WRXs as well as the dark blue/purple.

The blurple is nice but there is someone in my development with one already so maybe white then!

But they made a Matrix S? so it must mean its faster?
Oh right the S was slower than the base. Thanks Toyota.
They did make an XRS that was quick for 4 door hatch. Made 180hp and 0-60s in the low 7s.
The other one i would suggest as a DD and that can take abuse would be a 06-11 Si sedan or coupe. Quick, high reving (K20Z3), and one of the best handling small FWD cars.

Rather have something AWD and at least 200 hp. I might find myself in an Audi.

Would love an RS6 avant, but since Audi has been following the German car trend, over engineer everything, it might be in the shop more than your Subaru.

Yeah I’m looking at B6/B7 S4s with low miles. They are between 20 and 30k. Would love an RS4 but they are only slightly dipping into the 20s. And yeah an Avant would be godsend.

Looking for your vehicle? Its just a sales pitch. They’ll probably offer you less than what it’s worth. Seriously, beware the sales pitch.

Yeah I’m aware of that. But when it says 2005-2007 Legacy GT Blue/Silver it catches your attention. I told them to give me a call with a price.

Did they reveal as to why they’re so dead set on finding a fairly common subaru?

Nope, I had to get back to work so didn’t get into it with the sales guys. With my options, it’s not a fairly common car either. Fully loaded, bone stock, five speed and only year with Regal Blue Pearl exterior and black leather interior. Also no silly spoiler either! Excluding the spoiler option I think its like 1 of 240 or something around there.
